Russia and China hold the first computer command-staff exercise on missile defense

In accordance with the decision of the heads of the military departments of Russia and China in Moscow at the Central Research Institute of EKR Russian Defense Ministry held the first joint computer command-staff exercise (CPE) on missile defense, “Air and Space Security 2016,” which will run until 28 May.

The Russian side is headed by Chief of General Staff Air and Space Forces (VKS) – First Deputy Commander Lieutenant General FSI Paul Kurachenko, Chinese – Chief of Staff of the Air Force of People’s Liberation Army of China, Lieutenant General Ma Zhenjun.

The main purpose of the computer command-staff exercise is to develop joint action quickly create groups and anti-China and Russia missile defense for the protection of the territory from accidental bumps and provocative ballistic and cruise missiles.

This joint exercise is not directed against any third party.

As a result of CPE Russian and Chinese sides will discuss proposals on military cooperation in the field of missile defense.

“On the margins” of the event met VKS-Chief Colonel-General Viktor Bondarev and Deputy Chief of Joint Staff of the Central Military Commission of the PRC Air Force Lieutenant General Xiaoguang. During the meeting the sides discussed issues of bilateral military cooperation.
